A former student at the Pernambuco Conservatory of Music (PEBrazil), MADU is a Brazilian singer and songwriter who has been living in Portugal since 2019. Her sound shines through in compositions that bring the power of batuque and coco drums, maracatu, frevo, and forró, references to rhythms from her region that color songs about the complexities of being a migrant, the intensity of living, pleasures, and disappointments. She has performed at the most important venues in the country, such as Music Box, Clube B.leza, Casino do Estoril, Bota Anjos, among others. She has taken the stage at festivals such as Felicidade at CCB, Catraia na Tocha, and Mil Lisboa.
With her first EP, entitled MADU (2023), she has established her work in Europe and Brazil, where it is distributed by Altafonte. She is currently working on her second work, a full album, recorded by the Haus Studio in Lisbon, which will be released in early 2026. Known for her poetic writing, performances and strong stage presence, she has performed at the most important venues in the country, such as Music Box, Clube B.leza, Casino do Estoril, Bota Anjos, among others. She has appeared on stage at festivals such as Felicidade at CCB, Catraia at Tocha, Termómetro, Mil Lisboa, among others.
Beyond the sea, on her return to Brazil (2024), she performed on the renowned stages of Polo Rio Branco in Recife’s São João, Casa da Luz in Olinda, and FIG (Garanhuns Winter Festival). In 2025, she had the joy of singing to more than 600,000 people, invited by the master and international reference, Alceu Valença, to open his “Bloco. Bicho Maluco Beleza” in São Paulo and Recife, and at the opening of the Olinda Carnival. She ended the tour alongside Elba Ramalho, one of Brazil’s greatest interpreters, to close the carnival at Recife’s Marco Zero.
